It will also channel the community energy to preserve and manage and also value the heritage as collective responsibility. This would also emphasis that irrespective of which ethnic/ religious root reflects these cultural and historical property it is nevertheless be viewed as part of  overall Sri Lankan heritage and therefore it is the collective responsibility of the immediate community to preserve and respect it.

International Artists Workshop 2003

Fourteen artists from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Singapore, UK and Sri Lanka participate in the Theertha International Artists Workshop 2003.

Amanda Heng (Singapore), Amitha Indirani (Sri Lanka), Asma Mundrawala (Pakistan), Barnaby King (UK),Janani Cooray (Sri Lanka), Kapila Palihawadana (Sri Lanka), Kandasamy Sithamparanathan (Sri Lanka), Kusal Nandana (Sri Lanka), Mella Jaarsma (Indonesia), Salahuddin Khan (Bangladesh), Sanath Kalubadana (Sri Lanka), Srinivasa Prasad B H (India), T Shanaathanan (Sri Lanka), T H Pushpa Kumara (Sri Lanka), Bandu Manamperi (Sri Lanka), Anura Krishantha (Sri Lanka) and two Sri Lankan Artist Groups Saranga Puppeteers' Group, Vayamba Sathsara (Jahuta) Performance Group participated in the 2003 Workshop.

Theertha workshop was funded by Hivos (Netherlands), Ford Foundation (USA) and Art Network Asia (Singapore).
