It will also channel the community energy to preserve and manage and also value the heritage as collective responsibility. This would also emphasis that irrespective of which ethnic/ religious root reflects these cultural and historical property it is nevertheless be viewed as part of  overall Sri Lankan heritage and therefore it is the collective responsibility of the immediate community to preserve and respect it.

2004 / 2005 Swedish-Sri Lankan Artists Residency

With the collaboration of the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities in Stockholm and the Swedish Institute, Theertha organized a Swedish - Sri Lankan Artists Residency Program between December 2004 and January 2005. Three Swedish artists (Jacob Dhalgren, Filippa Airas and Jesper Nordahl) and three Sri Lankan artists (Pala Pothupitiya, Anoli Perera and Nilanthi Weerasekera) participated in the one month long residency ending up with an exhibition held at the Harold Peiris Gallery, Colombo between the 3rd and 9th of January 2005.

The Swedish Sri Lankan Artists Residency Program was sponsored by Swedish Institute and Theertha.
