It will also channel the community energy to preserve and manage and also value the heritage as collective responsibility. This would also emphasis that irrespective of which ethnic/ religious root reflects these cultural and historical property it is nevertheless be viewed as part of  overall Sri Lankan heritage and therefore it is the collective responsibility of the immediate community to preserve and respect it.

Forum for Culture

A monthly lecture cum discussion series in Sinhala and English was initiated in March 2008 at the Goethe Institute – Colombo. The discussions are based on topics that range from spatial politics to visual arts and from architecture to performing arts. An attempt would be made in 2009 to publish the ideas presented at the series in Sinhala.
