Documentary Film Project

by anurakri last modified 2008-09-01 21:30

Colombo Institute has received funding from FLICT (Colombo) to produce three documentary films focused on youth that would place in context both issues faced by different segments of youth and ethno-cultural diversity in the country. The project would attempt to support new ways of thinking about culture, identity and history of Sri Lanka. The series will also highlight plurality and multicultural roots and cultural complexity of the histories of different ethno-cultural communities in Sri Lankan society. The films will be designed for public screenings at school and youth clubs, cultural associations, universities and libraries as well as on public television.  The chosen locations for the documentary film project are Dehiattakandiya, Dambana and Aludeniya.
