It will also channel the community energy to preserve and manage and also value the heritage as collective responsibility. This would also emphasis that irrespective of which ethnic/ religious root reflects these cultural and historical property it is nevertheless be viewed as part of  overall Sri Lankan heritage and therefore it is the collective responsibility of the immediate community to preserve and respect it.

ArtLab is an art practices based journal for publication of contemporary writings  on art that would be informed of the current global/ regional  trends, ideologies and debates.  Published in Sinhala and Tamil languages, ArtLab includes original essays written by Sri Lanka writers and translations of well known essays written by international art critics and art historians that are pertinent to stimulating the local art debates.  The journal also target the university level art readership.  ArtLab is a peer reviewed journal published annually.  Artlab has been financially funded by HIVOS.

Artlab seek essay contributions from art writers worldwide. Any prior published essay in English on visual art will be considered after editorial review. For English language submissions, Sinhala and Tamil translation  will be done by Artlab.
